Every guide on this site is written by a human who has actually used the gear, not generated from a press release. We read every message ourselves — there is no auto-responder ticket queue between you and the editor who wrote the article you’re asking about. Typical reply time is 1–2 business days, Monday through Friday, U.S. Pacific time. If your question is urgent (e.g. you’re mid-purchase and need a quick gut-check on a model), say so in the subject line and we’ll do our best to bump it.
What we’re happy to help with
- Buying advice. Tell us what you print (5×7 portrait sessions, watercolor reproductions, Cricut sticker sheets, A3 archival giclée, shipping labels at volume, etc.), your budget ceiling, and the platform you’re on (Mac, Windows, iPad, Chromebook). We’ll point you to the guide that matches — or tell you honestly if we haven’t reviewed the right model yet.
- Print-quality & ink questions. Pigment vs. dye, EcoTank vs. cartridge, ICC profiles, longevity claims, why your blacks look muddy — if it’s covered in one of our reviews, we can usually point you to the exact paragraph.
- Connectivity & setup. AirPrint, Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet, USB-only fallbacks, mobile workflows. We test on real printers, not data sheets, so we can usually tell you what the manufacturer’s docs gloss over.
- Corrections & updates. Found a broken link, a discontinued model, a price that’s no longer accurate, or a spec we got wrong? Please send it. We update articles continuously and credit reader corrections in our editorial log.
- Press & review samples. Brands & PR contacts: we will consider review units for printers, scanners, and printing accessories that fit our coverage areas. Editorial control stays with us, no copy approval, no embargoed positive coverage. Pitch with the model name and shipping spec sheet.
What we don’t accept
To keep the site useful and honest, we have a hard line on the following — please don’t pitch them, we will not respond:
- Guest posts, contributed articles, or “collaborations” that are really just link placement.
- Paid links, do-follow link insertions into existing articles, or sponsored anchor-text edits.
- Sponsored content, paid product reviews, or any arrangement where money or future advertising influences the recommendation.
- Niche-edit / link-building outreach, regardless of how it’s phrased.
- AI-generated outreach pitching unrelated SaaS, crypto, gambling, or supplement content.
If you’re not sure whether your request fits, the rule of thumb is: if the goal is to influence what we recommend in exchange for something, the answer is no. Genuine reader questions and brand intros for products we’d actually cover are always welcome.

About the people behind the reviews
Chris is an L.A. native with a background spanning retail, behavioral science, and real estate — he runs the testing rig and writes most of the deep-dive technical comparisons. Mary handles editorial, fact-checking, and the “does this actually make sense to a real human” pass on every article. We work out of a home studio with active inkjets, a couple of laser units, and an ever-rotating bench of review samples. The full backstory lives on our about page.
